Muon Test

Setup

Muons were prepared using ORCA simulation. Care has to be taken that the same LUTs used in ORCA are loaded in GMT.

TIM module was transmitting internally generated clock and BCreset signal. (This test can be performed as well with the TTC clock.)

Using a dedicated test function GMTORCAMuonSelfTest in the gmt.exe program, the ORCA-generated muon data were loaded into the sim memories of the InputFPGA's. The caorimeter bits were pre-processed and loaded into MIAU chips. At a BCreset the data is transmitted and read from the spy memory at the SRT chip. The generated and read outputs are compared.

Results

The full functionality of the GMT boeard could be reproduced. A few bit errors have been found in different regions of the GMT board. The most important ones were bypassed in the firmware using spare connections.
